Comparison with the United States

 

The Israeli Supreme Court has opened its court-room doors much more widely than the U.S. Supreme Court to litigants seeking review of the legality of government actions.  Israeli standing is wide open, almost any individual or non-profit organization can file a petition for review of a government action.  In the United States, a plaintiff must have standing and injury in fact in order to bring a case to court.
