The trees bristle and shake, shivering

They see me, alone, and whisper hello.

 

The pain undulates, off-shore, bobbing on the sea

Blown about, with the tides, east and west

Our places, our songs, our friends, floating on,

carried on the winds of change, to nowhere in particular.

 

I miss your smile, your tender hands.

Your love filled me up, a cracked vessel,

Healing, binding my broken bones.
