Tori scrolled through the numbers a second time. It didn’t make any sense for their productivity to be higher this week than in the weeks when they hadn’t been taking a break. But it was.

Look at the number of systems they’d brought online—sensor arrays and the greenhouses, parts of the nav system, and half a dozen tiny tricky things they hadn’t even looked at in the first couple of weeks.

Of course, the first couple of weeks, they’d been putting out fires. In one case, quite literally. That had to happen to make this week’s work possible. It wasn’t exactly a fair comparison.

So, what would be? Tori ran a report of hours logged at their various workstations, and one that tapped into health data to measure alertness and attention.
